The Path that Forked

The path branched in two.
Leaving her thoroughly confused.

Could she straddle both at once?
Run back and forth one by one?


They twisted and turned
Becoming dark and uncertain

What lay ahead remained hidden
Making her heart fear-laden.

Which one was her destiny?
Which would lead to a dead end?

Would they ever meet or remain two?
Should she worry or go with the flow?

Was the future in her hands?
Or decided beforehand?

She lifted one foot, then another
She walked one path, going in farther!

But the other too travelled with her!
For she carried it close to her heart.
