I flow like the river
Slipping through rocks and stones
Frothing and fuming on the surface
Hiding within depths my true self.

Calm and strong at times
Whirling in storm at others
Nurturing and destructive in turn.

I flow like the river
Fast and furious over hurdles
Thrilled when falling down steep sides
Swimming against cross currents.

I flow like the river
Leisurely over even plains
Enjoying and playing all the way
Feeding lands in a gentle sway

I flow like the river
And wear many faces
To suit my life's different phases
So don't judge me in haste.
