The Blurring Days

Days merge into night
Dawning again in silence
Seasons come and go
Into each other they flow

Silently they rule the world
Taking turns one by one
Unannounced they arrive
And leave without fanfare

Time just ticks away
In an unending cycle
It treads noiselessly
Binding all in a vicious circle

Caging us behind numbers
It makes us stumble
The hands like whips
Driving us till we drop dead

What is new, what changes?
Just a day that flashes by
Only to merge again with the rest
Like many others, in a blur

We welcome what?
Bid farewell to what?
Time, relentless time ticks on
The same days, nights and seasons follow

To make the day different
With colours and lights we paint
And yet the feet march on
Rubbing them into oblivion.
